Terms of use

July 2026 version.

1. Purpose

MasterConstruction is a construction-law learning platform drawn from the teaching of Laurent Karila, lawyer (Karila, Société d'avocats) and lecturer at université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. These terms govern access to the platform and the use of its content. Creating an account constitutes acceptance of these terms.

2. Access and account

Access to the courses requires the creation of a personal account. The user undertakes to provide a valid email address and to keep their credentials confidential. The account is strictly personal: sharing credentials is prohibited. Each new sign-in ends the sessions open on other devices. Where account sharing is established, the publisher may suspend or revoke access, with no refund or compensation.

Registration is open to all. The duration of access to the content depends on the plan taken out or the access code used (time-limited complimentary access, purchase of a subject, subscription); it is stated at the time of subscription or code activation.

3. Content and use

The content (outlines, flashcards, quizzes, case studies, examination files) is reserved for the registered user's personal training use. Any reproduction, distribution or making available to third parties, whether free of charge or for a fee, is prohibited without prior written authorisation.

Progress (course validation, scores) is specific to each account. Assessment exercises must be completed honestly, without unauthorised assistance.

The platform also constitutes a database of which the publisher is the producer within the meaning of articles L. 341-1 et seq. of the French Intellectual Property Code. Any extraction or reuse of all, or of a qualitatively or quantitatively substantial part, of its content is prohibited (art. L. 342-1 of the same code) and exposes its author to the civil and criminal penalties provided by law. Downloaded documents are marked with the account holder's name.

4. Examination and certificate

The MasterConstruction certificate attests to the completion of a track on the platform. It is neither a diploma, nor a qualification, nor a registered professional certification. It is issued by subject, according to the track chosen, and can be verified online by its code.

5. Liability

MasterConstruction is an educational resource: its content does not constitute legal advice and does not bind the firm on account of any use made of it in a case. The current state of the law must be verified as at the date of each use.

The service is provided as is, without any guarantee of availability. The publisher may at any time suspend access for maintenance, develop the content and features, or modify the platform, without such interruptions or changes giving rise to any compensation.

6. Personal data

The processing of users' data is described in the privacy policy.

7. Amendment and governing law

These terms may be amended; the version in force is the one published on this page. They are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to the platform falls within the jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, subject to the protective rules applicable to consumers.
